The core technology for all our products is the same; a rugged industrial camera, a microscopic lens, an advanced LED lighting module, and a flow cell rated for continuous operation in virtually all environments. This technology is then applied in a variety of products, from a simple lab model all the way through to a fully automated system designed for 24/7 continuous operation. Our main product categories are shown below, or alternatively you can get in touch with us on info@processimaging.co.uk and we can recommend the one that best suits your needs.

The simplest models available, our compact lab and safe area analysers are designed for use in the analysis of lab samples, or in the online analysis of a safe area process line through a side stream.
LP100A
The compact and robust LP100A analyser is equally at home on a process line, laboratory bench or as a portable field unit. It is supplied with fully featured control software capable of complex particle analysis and data reporting including serial data output over Modbus TCP/IP.
Its stainless steel construction and flow cell rated for continuous use at 120 Bar (1740 PSI/12000 kPa) with the capability to operate with process liquid temperatures of up to 120°C (248˚F) make the analyser ideal for use in harsh environments. Options for higher temperatures and pressures are available on request.
The compact nature of the analyser head allows installation very close to the sample point to ensure the best possible sampling is achieved and the ability to work with flow velocities of up to 5ms-1 ensure great response to process changes and minimal flow control requirements. There is no upstream sample conditioning required.
The LP100A is connected to its control laptop computer by a Gigabit Ethernet link and cable lengths between 5 and 100 metres can be specified to ensure that the laptop and operator can be sited in a safe and convenient location.
Both the analyser and laptop each require their own power supply but the LP100A can be provided with a battery pack, enabling the analyser and its laptop computer to be used in the field without connection to a local power supply for several hours. This allows easy and flexible investigations to be made at remote locations or at sample points that are used only occasionally.
The LP100A weighs approximately 8 kilogrammes and can be supplied with its laptop in a rugged travel case where portability is critical.
IF100A
For a wide range of non oil and gas applications on-line particle analysis is the most appropriate and safest way to monitor process fluids, waters, oils, fuels and hydraulic fluids for liquid and solid contamination.
The Process Imaging IF100A uses automated video microscopy to provide enhanced particle data including particle counts, particle size distributions and full differentiation between particulate types, e.g. fluid contaminants and solid particles.
With a flow cell constructed from 316 stainless steel, sapphire and Viton™ the IF100A is rugged and able to cope with real-world on-line process conditions including high fluid temperatures and pressures.
Process Imaging’s IF100A is a single box product operated for simple installation and is entirely operated by touch-screen interface and is pre-configured to be usable straight out of the box without the need for user training.
Fluid flows through the IF100A’s flow cell, which has a pair of sapphire windows, and the camera looks through the fluid at the light source so that the particulates are backlit, then individual images of the particles are frozen and analysed.
Using image analysis techniques to differentiate between particles, droplets and gas bubbles the IF100A can differentiate between types of particles and record particle counts, size distributions and concentrations. The IF100A is for industrial applications only.

Our mobile analysers are an incredibly powerful tool for online analysis of hazardous area processes. With ATEX Zone 1 certification, they are ideal for short-term troubleshooting and optimisation work at site.
MEx1A
This mobile all in one unit combines the analyser and control computer into a single air purged enclosure with ATEX or IECEx Zone 1 certification. The unit weighs 34.4 kgs and its compact nature and small footprint makes it easy to transport with minimal set-up time out of the box for generating data quickly. This analyser comes with a detachable keyboard and mouse trackpad.
Its stainless steel construction and flow cell rated for continuous use at 120 Bar (1740 PSI/12000 kPa) with the capability to operate with process liquid temperatures of up to 120°C (248˚F) make the analyser ideal for use in harsh environments. Options for higher rated temperatures and pressures are available on request.
The portable nature of the analyser enclosure allows installation very close to the sample point to ensure the best possible sampling is achieved and the ability to work with flow velocities of up to 5ms-1 ensure great response to process changes and minimal flow control requirements. There is no upstream sample conditioning required.
It is supplied with fully featured control software capable of complex particle analysis and has an easily accessible USB port for transferring data from the analyser when required with the use of a Ex rated USB memory stick.
Available for either 110V or 230V 50H/60Hz power supplies, the MEx1A uses instrument air to achieve the hazardous area rating. The MEx1A is supplied with a thermostatically controlled vortex cooler that uses the same instrument air supply to maintain a constant temperature within the enclosure despite the external hot working environment. This allows for operation in tropical and desert locations.
The analyser is supplied with a range of accessories including high pressure sampling hoses (0-120 bar rated) and flight cases for easy transportation of this robust investigative tool. Hazardous area transformers can also be supplied to enable operation with alternative voltages.

For process lines that require constant monitoring, our bespoke fixed systems are the perfect solution. Each one is designed specifically to meet the requirements of the customer, the site, and the process.
MEx1A_SK
This fixed skid based all in one unit combines the analyser and control computer into a single air purged enclosure with ATEX or IEC Ex Zone 1 certification. The unit weighs approximately 75 kgs; its compact nature and small footprint makes it easy to install on site for permanent continuous monitoring. The analyser comes with an integral keyboard and rollerball mouse.

Available for either 230V 50Hz or 110V 60Hz power supplies, the MEx1A_SK uses instrument air to achieve the hazardous area rating. The MEx1A _SK is supplied with a thermostatically controlled vortex cooler that uses the same instrument air supply to maintain a constant temperature within the enclosure despite the external hot working environment. This allows for operation in tropical and desert locations.
The analyser can also be fitted with an automated cleaning function utilising a wash pump to deliver high pressure fluid to effectively jet wash the analyser flow cell windows. The fully automated version of this is called the MEx1A_SK_W. The fully automated skid can be installed either into a cabinet with sun shade or on a flat mounting plate with the pump mounted to the base.
